Candace Vogler is a Senior Faculty Advisor for the Hyde Park Institute. She is the David B. and Clara E. Stern Professor of Philosophy at the University of Chicago, where she also helped to develop and direct the Master of Arts Program in the Humanities. Vogler completed her BA in Philosophy at Mills College, her PhD in Philosophy and PhD certificate in Cultural Studies at the University of Pittsburgh, where she also held a Fellowship in formal Economics. She taught at U.C. Davis and U.C.L.A. prior to coming to Chicago.

Vogler published John Stuart Mills’ Deliberative Landscape (Routledge, 2001; reissued in 2016) and Reasonably Vicious (Harvard University Press, 2002), and articles in moral philosophy, sexuality and gender studies, cinema studies, and the history of philosophy.
